Candy Hearts Bracelets

Candy Hearts Bracelets made with honest to goodness candy hearts.
It seems that with many of our challenges, Sara's is fast and easy with tons of visual impact, while mine is slow and drawn-out with subtle details.  This challenge was no different!  We both worked on our submissions on Sunday.  It seems like an hour after Sara told me she had started, she texted me and said she was finished with her "super cute" project AND she had done a tutorial.  All I could say is, "Mine isn't going well."
The bracelets along with the earrings and a couple other castings.
And, indeed, it was not going well.  My molds wouldn't release, I kept dropping things, I would think that I had things like earring wires then find out I didn't, and, worst thing ever, I thought my Dremel drill had died!  Thank goodness, it was just a stuck lock!  I also tried to make silicone molds for the first time and I had issues with that, too.  BIG sigh....

Despite my many hardships, I absolutely LOVE the outcome.  How cute are these resin encased candy hearts?  I casted enough beads, cabochons, and charms to make several pieces of jewelry, but I was only able to finish my bracelets, the earrings and this key chain.
BTW, how much do you love my vintage daschund dresser valet?
Here's a close up.
I'm so enamored of the dangle bracelet that I wore it to work on Monday and I never wear jewelry to work.  The beads on the top bracelet were taken from a vintage necklace I found at Goodwill.

My love affair with resin continues. . .  despite a less than easy experience this time around.  A quick shout out to Terri at www.sacredkitschstudio.com.  I bought the adorable little acrylic discs on the dangle bracelet from her.  Sacred Kitsch is one of my favorite places on the web to buy fun, funky charms and beads.

Now, it's time for you to vote for your favorite Valentine's project!

sarah - glad the project "turned around" even though it was slower than mine! Having seen them in person ... they are CUTE! The dangly bracelet is my favorite.

Sherry, they were easy to make. Check back in a couple weeks when I hope to have a tutorial for resin-casting posted.
